A Finnish 7-piece band formed in 1999, known for their unique brand of epic and bombastic metal. Heavily inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth, with lyrics focusing on its characters, sagas and tales, while the bands music is a blend of symphonic-, folk-, gothic- and power metal.
BATTLELORE utilizes a "beauty-and-the-beast" vocal style, contrasting clean and melodic female vocals with harsh male growls.
Released their debut album in 2002, followed by five more full lengths during the following nine years. The band has made countless European tours and festival appearances.
In 2011 BATTLELORE took a break from all activities due to various reasons but made a live comeback in 2016 followed by their latest album "The Return of the Shadow" in 2022 through Napalm Records.
